A proud member of our very own, Colorado National Guard, serving as Sergeant. He was deployed from 2016-2017, in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield. He joined the CO National Guard in 2013, at the age of 33.
Jonathan has worked primarily in the downtown Denver, restaurant management industry since 2004, managing restaurants both small/local owned and large corporate owned. He has interacted with so many people from both here at home and those passing through.
In the summer of 2018, Jonathan stepped down from management at the Yard House (2014), to focus/pursue his masters degree in Global Community Engagement at the University of Denver, in which he completed in November of 2019. In the spring of 2020, he will be pursuing his second masters degree in Organizational Development at the University of Denver. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Lastly, Jonathan is class of 2020 for The Leadership Program of the Rockies.
In the extra time Jonathan has, he seeks out volunteer opportunities within the community and has given his time and resources to numerous organizations. “Volunteering with the time I have is more fulfilling than just sitting around. It is important to engage and assist within the community you live. Whether it’s a shelter, museum, or retirement home, any help is good help. There are great opportunities available for everyone, and it does not require a lot of your time.”
As far as personal life, Jonathan resides downtown, where he has lived in the same building, since 2008. "I know the city like the back of my hand. I have seen the growth. I have seen the struggles. Frankly, I’m tired of our leaders non-ability to not listen to the people. Decisions do not start in the board room, they start on the streets, in the communities, and with the people. They continue to take our money while their pockets get fatter. That’s not leadership, it’s robbery.”
I love going to the Performing Arts Center. I love watching a ball-game at Coors Field. I love a concert at Pepsi Center. Our city offers so much, so many things to do. However, no one wants to come, it’s not as safe anymore, it’s not as clean, it’s not as accessible. Let’s change that together!
Best way to describe me is a city boy, with a country soul. A taste for the fine arts and a soldier at heart.
